Sad News...Gene Abbott
At our last CTEA conference I asked if anyone know how Gene Abbot was doing, hearing that he hadn’t been doing too well lately. Unfortunately I found out too late that he passed away just a week after I was asking about him. Gene had been part of the CTEA conference since before I started attending in the '80s as a college student. He was the one who would get all of the wonderful door prizes from the vendors. You could talk to Gene about any motor, machine or tool and get the best advice along with a great story. Gene was a great supporter of our association and even though fighting the cancer was hard on him, he would be at our conference with energy and a laugh. I am just sorry I wasn’t there to represent CTEA at his service. I will miss him.
Lewis E. 'Gene' Abbott
