History

The Colorado Industrial Arts Fair 1953

The Colorado A&M College Industrial Arts and Light Construction and Marketing Club were instrumental in bringing the idea of an industrial arts fair into being at the Colorado A&M College.  The members of the club, spurred by Larry Dascom, felt that it would be a good idea to further the development pf industrial arts in the schools of Colorado; hence the Fair came into being in 1953. The first fair attracted 16 schools.  In 1954 the number of schools had grown to 20 and entries had grown from 75 to 150.  By 1956 there were 33 schools and 300 entries.
