In the fall of 1951 at the CEA Industrial Arts Section the teachers who attended were invited to an organizational meeting at Colorado State College, Greeley. There were 38 teachers in attendance. Al Lytle, Denver; George Henry, Fort Collins; Homer Boyer, Colorado Springs; and Clarence Baab, Greeley, were appointed to set up the first meeting to be held in April, 1952. Al Lytle was chairman of the planning group and presided at the first convention.
The first actual meeting was held on Saturday April 19, 1952, at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. This was a planning meeting. A committee of representative teachers made the first division of districts in the state.
A committee was appointed to prepare a constitution and by-laws.
